Going Gentle

This too shall pass me by
And I will watch it as it goes.
I will smile.
I will comfort.
I will give sage advice.
I will try to avoid comparisons.
There will be ice-cream.
There will be congratulations.
In either case, there will be hugging.
I will be happy for them.
I will be patient.

Time will pass and denial will be harder.
There will be crying into pillows
But less than you'd expect.
It will not be unbearable.
It will not be a tragedy.
At some point, they'll start to notice.
Subjects will be avoided.
They'll try to be more sensitive.
In some ways that will be better.

Well, I will say this - life is sometimes full of surprises.

BTW, how is the law degree coming along?

E-Kvetcher: coming along. I've finished my bachelor's and am spending this semester on a Master's (it's this accelerated track program thing). In September, I start my year-long internship.

Ah, the stages of waiting for the next George Martin book. I'm glad you moved into through the five stages of grief so soon. It took me and Mike much longer to be resigned.
Rachel.
PS. Shmuli promises to be more sensitive in return for the ice

Darn you Rachel. ice cream! Ice cream! I will not be more sensitive to Tobie in return for mere ice. Well, maybe, after one of those icy glares you give me but that's really fear, not sensitivity.
