Grammar

I once again find myself unable to listen to the radio. Not because of the inanity of the rhetoric of all involved, as was previously the case, but because of the ignorance of the most basic grammar that the advertisements display. I know I sound elitist here, but I'm not looking for anything complicated like attention to prepostions or split infinitives. How can somebody who has completed a minimal amount of education hear a sentence like "Just by picking up the phone, proof will be on its way" without wincing? It's not even a conscious decision for me- it's something that goes down to the bone.
